It honestly depends(or I should say, depended) on the assignment.
May I suggest reading a couple of the books on the subject of homework and its possibly destructive qualities (there were several last time I checked in the education section of Barnes and Noble) and then taking the arguments from those books to your teacher.
Just think, instead of just saying, "homework sucks" and your teacher saying, "deal with it or flunk" Your teacher would be impressed by your research, and who knows, might even find your arguments swaying their position and who knows, maybe they would abolish homework.
Also, please, for your own understanding of the true purposes of schooling and your own education, read "The Underground History of American Education" by John Taylor Gatto. They are NOT teaching you to be educated and a good thinker. They are teaching you to be a good little factory workerand consumer who never questions authority and depends on authority figures to tell you what you will think, buy, want, and need.

Everybody hates homework at some point, but think about what it does for you, helps you prepare for the future. If you hate homework now, wait till you get further on in life, then you will definitely hate it.

depends on the assignment. i do not mind homework w/ a purpose so i recap the knowledge i learned that day but i do mind piontless hw like word searches

I will say that if it pretains to math and science then no. If it pretains to history then absolutely no.
