I am 61 yrs. old nurse. For several reasons I want to change careers but don't have the time or money to invest in a lot of education. I am LPN so none of my past education will help. Thank you.

Not certain what you consider being paid well....but your background will qualify you as a Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Receptionist.

Depending on what part of the country you live in, you could make upwards to around $13-$15 hr...even as a Office Receptionist [not medical]

With no further information as your talents, skills and preferences/likes/dislikes it's hard to say more :-)

LPN's are in demand. Go to a different area. Without more education, your options are not there for good pay. Those days are long gone. I understand your desires to leave your profession. What about private duty? Sweet job, one patient. Check with your local nursing agencies. Open your own business. Find your passion. Start as a hobby and expand. You can do that. Have a great year.

Sweetie,

You are 61 years old and a nurse. You have a LOT of experience that companies would die to have! Never think that your past education would hinder you.

Try going to a manufacturing plant and working as a nurse. You can work your way up from there into whatever you wish.

Try working at a medical publishing company as an editor.

Have you thought about being a Nanny? Many folks are looking for older nannies and would love your LPN. Depending upon your situation you could live in or out. If you were willing you might be able to care for a handicapped child which would probably pay more.

HI there,
I think you should look into being a school nurse. The hours are easier than regular clinical nursing, and you aren't going to see much real injury. But your experience will definitely come in handy with the kids and benefits should be good.

Well, I would suggest a career in real estate. Agents make the commission which is particularly good especially in certain parts of the country like California. Many millionaires, billionaires own properties and sells them for profit.....

Bartender make lots of tips. Although at age 61 you will have to remember how to make different drinks but not much education needed.
