I got into my present career by choosing to take a huge pay cut in order to be happier in my work and my life.
As long as the bills are paid, I'm cool.
AS to the rest of the population, it often seems like most would rather suffer to get the "stuff" than live simply and be happy.

I would say they matter less to me than the average American. I grew up really poor and I live with modest means now. I don't desire to have new cars, or a large house. I would be happy with a 20 year old truck and a mobile home.

Everything! It is so commercialize any more, it's kind a hard to go back to "hand sewing and making meals from left over carcasses", you know everyone so busy trying to keep with each other, that there's just no time for the "good life"

Material things are important. They don't give you full happiness but they help a lot. It is better to cry in a BMW that to cry in a Metro for sure!!! LOL

Personally, I don't care much for material things. I find pleasure in all the things that can't have prices put on them. =)

They don't mean much to me at all. They are just things and are very replaceable. People are what matter and they cannot be replaced.
