Locking back on American history we see time periods like the American Civil War, the Great Depression, the turmoil of the 1960's. We made it through all those times and we will make it through this time ok. The whole world's economy is a shambles right now. It is easy to think that the president or prime minister, has a magic wand to fix all the country's woe, but that really isn't the case. In America, President Obama was hired to do a job for four years. At the end of those four years the American people will decide whether to rehire him, or hire somebody else, (who will then also get blamed because he won't be able to magically fix all our problems.) The root of the economic problems in both the US and the UK is that the people have willingly purchased the majority of our manufactured made overseas just to save a dollar, (or a pound.) Until the PEOPLE chose to buy goods that are made domestically, there isn't a lot the government can do to create jobs at home if the people willingly buy goods made overseas. Of course we have other issues too, we have problems with health care, immigration and a score of other issues, but neither part has proven vary capable at solving ANY of these problems. So I don't think sacking Obama will make any difference.

Hi Mohill,
Without doubt, you should select pjmattus’ response as the “best answer.” Why, you ask?
Well, pjmattus has completely demonstrated why America is falling apart. Firstly, pjmattus has judged you without having any idea as to who you are or what you are all about. In many cases, judgmental personality-types do not recognize the intrinsic value of human life and will put others down and hold people back - to advance their own personal agendas.
You’re absolutely correct Mohill in stating that there are people who do not practice ethics. America will always have problems until we (as a nation and as human race) fully comprehend the equality of all people regardless of race, color, gender, religion, education, social status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc., etc.
A scholar would argue that I’m being a hypocrite because my answer is also judgmental; however, this is certainly not my intention and I definitely lack the qualifications.
Unfortunately, my answer is not based on an Ivy League education; it is based on life experience and personal spiritual growth and development. Well, I did attend the school of hard knocks for many years.

We are afraid we will hurt someone’s feeling; we twist things around so justice isn’t served unless it’s comfortable for the perpetrator. We give up our ground to people who are here illegally and pledge to only to their own home soil. We are greedy and wish to give up nothing while the enemy will die attacking with a knife for what they believe in against an army with high tech weapons; and all our soldier’s hear from us is the wining about going to war, instead of supporting them, even if some disagree. We as a people own very little, it’s owned by finance and mortgage companies, we have allowed large corporations to grow to such levels that if it failed, it will catastrophically affect our economy, there is no system to freeze stock prices to prevent the market from caving in on itself until a solution to the problem can be developed. We have to sell our work overseas because we don’t want to work for anything, we want all the benefits and still be able to sue for our ignorance or stupidity. We work hard on a drug program to simply “Just Say No” and then allow pharmaceutical companies to advertise on television to reach out to every hypochondriac lying on the couch, and to every man that can’t get it up, we let lawyers advertise so they can protect our stupidity, because we feel that we must protect every stupid and ignorant person who wants to be a lab rat. We gripe about everything the government is not giving us not realizing we are the government, and when we get what we want we abuse it and then gripe about the people we put in office to control it.
Our freedom has worked for us and we think it will work for everybody else. Our freedom has allowed the enemy to be within, illegal drugs to become an industry, gangs, corruption, and homeless people on our very streets, because we complain about the police doing their job, we allowed a neighboring country to just walk right in, and we went to Kuwait to run another out. Look at how the world sees us, and we can’t understand why they hate us. We’re becoming a nation of individuals. We’re becoming un-united, un-believable and unreasonable to ourselves. We have a highly educated population and have no idea of how to use what we've learned because we are blinded by our egos. And this is just a sample as to why I think America is falling apart.

The USA has been falling apart ever since before it was a nation. There's nothing happening now that has not happened before. The big difference today is the pesky news media who tell us about everything, whether we need to know about it or not-- and the media LOVES to make news where none exists just to scare the crap out of people.
Sorry, but I don't subscribe to your attitude about the country falling apart.

Around three paragraphs into answering, ir ealised that you are not literate enough to comprehend my point, so i will sum up a few things that I think will get you going.
1) you give no examples to support your claims regarding international disputes, use of ethics, or foreign policy
2) Your sentence fragment regarding television and movies is also nonsensical.
3)Americans do this for many reasons, mainly because of the publicized pseudo-nationalism across the country of moral and empirical superiority.

I believe we have lost the ability to be humble. We have been the most powerful country in the world for so long we have become bullies. It has invaded our everyday lives and thoughts. I firmly believe that as long as we are not humble and thankful and take advantage of our riches and step on others it will cause our downfall.

as we look to the past, America doesn't fall apart, it simply has power struggles like any other country, it always seems to be falling apart just before the revolution. Human nature doesn't allow for defeat, expecially a national body with so much pride.

It's in the values taught to us and our children from day one. We are taught to be self-seeking in order to be successful, then we are told that it is wrong when we get close enough to it. Greed, Pride and Envy are major problem starters.
People think like this:
"Every man of ambition has to fight his century with its own weapons. What this century worships is wealth. The God of this century is wealth. To succeed one must have wealth. At all costs one must have wealth." (from Oscar Wilde's play "An Ideal Husband")

It is falling apart because different people are not meant to be together.
No matter what others say, there is no unity among the people of the US.
That's just my opinion.
