He tried to get the emotions of remorse and sorrow and hate, I think. That's what it brought to me. He did it by creating scenes that are very emotionally stirring and upsetting. Consider the clearing of the ghetto, that was really horrifying. And when Schindler breaks down and cries because he could have saved more? It's a very moving film. You should actually watch it.

I did not see the whole thing but its a masterpeice. In fact its number 9 on the top 100 american movies of all time. he wanted to show the nazis cruelty and the struggle the jews went through in the holocaust.

He wanted to shock the audience with the horror that was the Nazi regime.
It's an emotionally draining, incredible film.
