I don't loose it a lot, I just don't understand people that remain placid all the time......

My partner just swallows it down, he never gets annoyed (men do this alot, and I believe thats why they have more heart attacks)

They never release there anxiety

A lot of this comes from a particular attitude that some people have that they are the center of the universe, more important than the people around them. This is often a carryover from childhood, though many adults hang on to this thought. It can definitely make you impatient and annoyed with people's behavior. You know, "What's WRONG with these people?"

One technique is to stop thinking your standards are the ultimate and everyone should live up to them. Just let people be who they are, and be more curious about what they'll do next and why, rather than so quick to evaluate them and judge them.

I don't think anyone can stop themselves feeling annoyed. It is how you react and respond to that feeling which determines how other people view whether you get annoyed or not.

To change how you feel, you have to understand why you feel a particular way. When you understand what is behind that feeling, you are able to a) control it and b) influence it.

Much anger in the world is due to jealousy, rivalry, and status. When you have enough food, warmth, and protection from the elements your only concerns are what you feel. Those feelings are driven by what you see others have, and you have not. If you do not see it, you do not get annoyed.

Other ways of stopping yourself getting annoyed, are to monitor when you get annoyed. Try taking your blood pressure at various times during the day. You might find it is raised first thing in the morning before breakfast, and just before a meal is expected. This is the natural body chemicals helping you prepare for an aggressive act on a hunted animal (food). When you are aware of when you might get annoyed and why, you can anticipate and prevent any problems arising from those feelings.

Other things which can raise your blood pressure (and give rise to a feeling of being annoyed), are alcohol, salt, caffeine, etc... Basically any stimulants which feed the brain (sugar), can cause problems when over used and then a deficit occurs.

Foods such as cheese or milk can create feel good feelings, an antidote to annoyance.

Think of the "annoyance" as a television ad. When the ad comes on TV, you could immediately change the channel.

When you get annoyed at someone, change what you are thinking. Change the subject. Change your environment--like, go for a walk... take a bath.

Stop rehashing annoyances. Think of anything else.

I think it is having common sense and realising that alot of things are just not worth getting annoyed about... when you can do that only a few things will wind you up but yu cant stop it, just cut down on the things that are just not worth it.

Deep breaths. In the Nose, Out the mouth. (Of course I'm also taking anti-anxiety meds)

You obviously get annoyed pretty regularly, so you must know when it's coming on again. Keep your mouth shut at that moment and ask yourself "is this worth getting in a twist about?"
Mostly, you'll find it isn't, and each little conquest will show that you can control yourself. Easy!!!
