Usually, when their ideas/comments don't agree with your own. Seriously though, it has to do with how they perceive and react to reality. Society has usually set up these sort of lines that defines the normal and when one crosses the line, then society labels him/her psycho.

My parents raised an adopted daughter since she was small (under 2 years) she is now 19 or so and very much a psycho. My Mom still talks to her and thinks she can help her but she is not allowed anywhere near me or my kids. She is very unstable. I sort of disagree with the 'how you were raised' statement. Yes, the first 2 years of her life were horrid but from then on she was in a stable loving environment. Therefore I feel Genetics play a HUGE role in what makes someone mentally unstable.

a person who is neglected, abused, is mostly insecure, gets raised without a feeling of confidence and without love can become a psycho who likes to hurt back , who likes to revenge his hurt and his devastation
