I was watching CSI the other night & it was said that when a person is trying to remember they will look off to the right & when a person is fabricating(lieing) they will look off to the left, when you are talking to them & asking them questions.GOOd Luck!! I know how them liars can be.I hope things turn out for the best.

Eyes darting from side to side
Touching the face (chin is a small lie, higher up, like the forhead is a bigger lie)
Their words dont match the expression on their face (he says he doesnt have a crush on her, but smiles like crazy when he says it)
They tell you more info than you need to know (trying to cover up a story)
These are key ones, but some people are so good at lying they'll never even show any of them.

I've always noticed with some people when they tell the lie their eyes will dart off to the side or something - losing eye contact with you.
Kind of like that saying "Look me in the eye and say that." My dad used to do it all the time when he was lying.

Watch the eyes, if they are shifty and do not make good eye contact with you, that's a sign.
Watch the body language, nervous fidgeting is a sign.
Watch the voice, unusually high or fast talking is a sign
Watch the nose, if it grows two or three inches or more, that is a sign.

**Darting eyes.
**Won't look you in the eye.
**Making strange faces or expressions they don't normally make.
**Fidgeting
**Talking louder or way softer (mumbling)
**Long pauses before answering or asking you to reiterate your question.
**Redirecting the converstation
**Sweating
Be crafty in your questioning and you will get an idea very quickly.
For instance, when I think one of my kids has done something (I have 4 kids) I usually go to the most likely candidate for the "crime" and ask them why they did it, before I know if they really did it. I can tell by their response (guidelines above) if they are lying or not. Sometimes they are so caught off guard they just tell the truth!

overexplaing and unnecessary details are a huge give away. also, not looking in the eye, blushing, or hesitating between facts. Smiles are NOT a tip for lying (i smile when i tell the truth and always get in trouble)

Great question, actually!
A few signs are....
Not able to give you eye contact.
Or if they keep looking at the floor,
Or around the room.
If they keep fidgeting with their hands.
And if their nosterals flare,
Also if they bite their lips a lot of the time it is a sign.
A lot of the time they will scratch their temple ( On your head )
And look around the room.
Hope I helped.
xoxo

Actually, if people look you in the eye longer than they normally do. they're trying to seem sincire. other things are like touching their nose or face as if they're trying to cover up what they're saying. Normally people look up to remember info. so if they look in any other direction other than up when telling a story, they may be lying.

When they can't look you in the eye. Avoid issues when you bring it up. Deflect issues by bringing up something you did in the past as opposed to the issue in hand. They shut down in terms of communication.
