I'm not sure what you mean but some people are just more matter of fact with children. Just b/c you don't do the cutchey coo stuff with them doesn't mean you are loving. Most adults and even children adopt a "motherese" approach to babies, talking in a higher voice, long pauses between words and statements, etc. it just seems to be an almost innate way to approach and interact with infants but it isn't set in stone. Infants do need to be talked to, interacted with, cuddled and held how you go about that should match your personality.

I guess it depends. Are the infants your own children? Or are they infants of friends that you are around once in a while. If they are your own children, being standoffish and not giving them physical love and affection can actually stunt their brain development. I understand that you don't want to hurt them, but infants need to be held a lot. If they are not your kids, don't worry about it. It's not your job to hold them all the time. My husband doesn't play with out friends infant, but I know he would if it was our kid.

Society seems to think when a person does not react to babies as to adorable to not pay attention to, (they don't like kids.), or that is the look.
Not that you are a bad parent or uncle, play with them a little and some people will not have the same view . Peek-a-Boo is a a game if they are old enough.

IDK...that's not unloving, but people think you should smother the babies....unlike children, who they tell to stop whining...idk,...some people are WEIRD!
