I love the Fort Collins area, it's so well kept, the university is there, good public and charter schools for K-12.

I live in Loveland, CO which is the town north of Berthoud. We almost moved to the Parker area but moved up here instead and I could not be happier! If you have kids & horses there is so much room for both in Berthoud. It is an area that is growing quickly but is retaining the small atmosphere. Berthoud also has one of the most beautiful downtown home areas I have ever seen. Berthoud is so close to Boulder, Fort Collins, Denver, Cheyenne an dthe airport as well. It is a great location with really friendly people - very down to earth. Parker/ Castle Rock tends to be filled with people who are more concerned with "keeping up with the Joneses". Good Luck on your move!

Both are growing like crazy. Berthoud is much smaller, but close enough to Longmont or Loveland if you would need anything there. It is very friendly and safe and beautiful, etc..I have friends in Parker, and although I'm not an expert about that area, it does have a different feeling like some of these other people are saying. I don't know how to put it, but Parker seems like a bunch of weirdos live there. It's really pretty though also. My opinion would be to move to Berthoud, unless you want to be closer to Denver. It could be a lot worse then either of those two places though. I'll just leave it at that

It depends....Parker is closer to Denver and thereby a little more "urban" than Berthoud. Berthoud is in a rural community, although the area is growing so fast up there. You will definitely get more of the small-town feel in Berthoud. As another answered, though, it is close to shopping, restaurants etc. because it is not far from many larger towns/small cities such as Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Ft. Collins. Parker will be more of a suburban environment. All said, you can't go wrong with either, really. I grew up in an area of Colorado much like Berthoud (our teams played their teams in sports, too) so I know and am a little partial to that area. Again, it just depends on what type of environment you want.

I live around Berthoud and I can tell you it's beautiful. It's much more of a laid back atmosphere compared to Parker. Also the crime is almost non exsistent. Berthoud is the perfect small town atmosphere, but 20 minutes from all the shopping and entertainment you could ask for.

I love Berthoud, but I don't know much about Parker. I think Berthoud has a growth cap so that makes prices a little high. But it's a great community....I live in Milliken which is one exit north of Berthoud and we go there quite a bit. Yeah it's a smaller town but you are not far from a lot of bigger towns.

Easy tradeoff. Berthoud is nice small town atmosphere, relatively less crowded, and not as affluent. Parker is upscale, more crowded and more expensive. Down home style or fancy?
