Wearing all white??

There is an african-american guy that I see around, and he is always weraing white. I mean, a white shirt, whit pants, a white hat, white shoes, he even has a white wallet! Is this an ethnic thing or a religious thing??

There are certain religions that require people to dress in all white during a period of conversion.

He may well be a hospital intern, nurse or some other professional that requires him to dress all in white.

Or it could just be personal choice. [White wallet points to this option]

And as a general rule, darker skin people look good in white/light clothes just as pale skinned people look better in black or dark colors. The contrast is attractive.

In western culture, the bride's white dress has come to symbolize virginity. But according to some recent statistics, there aren't so many virgin brides anymore -- but still the white dress prevails. Some uptight traditionalists might say it's wrong to wear white if you're not a virgin, but actually, virginity was not the original meaning of the white dress. Really, the white dress was more a symbol of vanity than virginity. Brides who wanted to wear a symbol of their purity wore blue.

Think it is a personal thing. I mean he might really like white because it is clean looking and it brings attention to the individual. I know that most African Americans love the way white looks on them because it "pops" off the skin color. From a religious standpoint, the color white means different things. A popular religion from the Yoruba or Santeria religions uses different Gods or Orishas to represent them. For example he might be a child of Obatala who is the creator of humankind. He creates humans in many forms with different degrees of physical advantages and challenges. Obatala embraces all his children with patience and love. Among all his many creative qualities Obatala brings intelligence, peace and calm to the world. The color of Obatala is white.

i live in a really cosmopolitan area in the Mediterranean and a lot of the African and dark Mediterranean guys wear white.. i think is a fashion thing because it brings out the tone of their skin and it also makes them look quite hot! look at P, Diddy he also wears alot of white i think its more of a fashion status

The color white looks FABULOUS on dark skin. Perhaps that's why he does it.
