there are no shows, plays or concerts like it used to be. What happened to Cincinnati?

People have left that city in droves. Rising unemployment caused the crime rate to go up, not to mention is a hugely racist city. The cops are horrid there. The jobs that people do have are underpaid and you get treated like dirt. Trust me, I worked there as a paralegal. No amount of money on the planet could get me back there.

One of my friend's neighbors was a librarian, mid-40s black woman. Met her a few times, a great lady, intelligent, kind and gracious. She left because she couldn't take it anymore and moved to Seattle.

I worked with a young, very attractive female black attorney. Despite the fact that she would always dress as befit her status, she couldn't get a cab to stop for her when her car (a BMW, no less) had broken down. She came into work and she just sighed and told me what had happened. She and her husband moved about three months later. I don't blame her.

Everyone I know who lives there is desperately looking to get out.

The riot a few years ago pretty much ruined everything. The "intelligent black people" as you put it are still here, but what does intelligence have to do with entertainment? People can be intelligent without having a creative bone in their body.

If you are looking for something to do, I suggest you go see Kajy Parker's art exhibition at the City Cellars wine store. Her show will be opening Tuesday, January 23, 5:30 - 7 PM with a wine tasting reception. There is a $6.00 admission fee for the reception.
The City Cellar's hours are M - F, 11- 7, and Saturday, Noon to 5.

Kajy is a beautiful, very talented black artist, and she is also my best friend's sister. (Who is also a very intelligent black woman - she works for the IRS!) Their brother plays Bodhron (an Irish drum) at the Celtic music sessions in Mason (Corner of Tylersville Rd. and Sharonville Rd.) most weeks.

There are things to do, you just have to look a little harder.
