call the child support office and tell them, unless you are receiving state assistance the order will be dropped immediately.

Let the order stay in place, just because his is taking care of his responsibility now doesnt mean that he wont slip up in the future, there is a reason why you applied for it in the first place and why the courts granted it to you, because he was not providing for your children financially and it took a courts judgement to make him pay since he wasnt willing to do it freely as a father should...keep the order in place because you do not want to take a chance that he could get angry at you one day or decide that he's not going to give you money for the child again...

In most states you can't stop the support. You might want to just write him a check every month for the amount of the child support after you receive it.

no! Don't do that! Child support in the form of money is (generally) more consistent. What happens if you guys get in a big blow out fight in two weeks? He's not going to be coming around and bringing diapers and milk like he was. Protect your CHILD's legal and moral rights to be supported by his/her father. It's alot harder to get it back than to let him keep paying. If you don't want the money, put it in a trust fund to help the child better afford college or something!

You need to check into your state laws. Where I live they wont drop the child support, even though I have requested it be done several times. Why drop it just give it back to him.

Are you sure this is going to be permanent? Unless you two are getting married, I would allow the child support order to stay. It gives you peace of mind constant financial assistance for your chid(ren).

Be careful, once you take him off, he may change his view point and not pay anything. It may not be feasible to get him back on child support.

Whatever you do, have a neutral witness and have everything in writing.

you have to contact your lawyer to have it officially worked out- but if you want to work it out b/w yourselves. I would have him give you money (so he doesnt get in trouble) and then give him a check back....this may work better in case he stops taking care of his "responsibility".

Good Luck.
