I have an enclosed compost bin and the green fruit beetle larvae are periodically found inside. I understand that they're beneficial, but the adults have a problem exiting and unless I hear the "thumping" sound they make when trying to escape they sometimes perish.

Any suggestions on how to facilitate their exit?

Your compost bin should have holes in it to vent anyway.

Drill a few 1" holes about 1 foot apart in the lid. Your beetles will escape and your compost will do better.

Make tiny little escape doors in the bin. Be sure to post tiny little signs pointing the way.
