I've been drinking insane amounts of water every day, am peeing constantly (because of all the water I'm drinking, probably), and have been using so much lotion on my hands its almost disgusting (think applications every two hours or so--and it could easily be put on more). Is it possible I'm not getting enough salt? I wouldn't think so... Not feeling tired or sick, although yesterday I went and got a flu shot. I'm actually feeling more perky and awake than normal at school (although that might be due to actually getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night during the week). Any ideas?

okay, i have ALWAYS had to pee alot, i dont think im diabetic, mostly because i had alot of bloodwork done when i was about 12 and they didnt find anything then,so?i think it just might be the city water, maybe the fact that the weather suddenly went from a nice autumn (which doesnt actually ever occur in buffalo or rochester) of about 4 months, to a suddenly below freezing winter. my bodies adjusted alot already (also, i stopped drinking as much tap water, and have been drinking more bottled water when im in the dorm, and a ton of that poland spring tub water when im at work. which has helped a bit too). i think it was just a shock.
i might go get tested for diabetes eventually, but im afraid theres really no reason to right now.
although some people may argue that.
and while i appreciate the thought, you cant go get tested for every single thing that you have a single symptom for. its a waste of time and blood, so id rather live carefree for right now.
thanks for all your guyss help!

Drinking water will not necessary hydrate you. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea are diuretics (Something that causes the body to lose water). Drink lots of water while drinking lots of soft drinks, and you will probably not get ahead. Certain medicines have the same effect. And, being sick will effect the body. Do you know the symptoms of dehydration? Chapped hands and lips, colored and smelly urine are the beginning signs. Severe headaches, constipation, pain in the kidneys are the advance signs. If not sure if you are suffering from dehydration, go see a doctor. I hope this helps you.

Most schools and public building just use the city water as is. The minerals in the water (making it hard water) will dry out your skin. While the lotion is a good idea, if you are taking more showers, this will make things a lot worse. If your parents have a water softener, you probably never had this problem at home because the minerals were removed from that water.

It could be a lack of humidity in your environment causing it too if the air you are in is dry it will suck any moisture that it can to raise the humidity. and cold areas do that I am in Michigan and it has happened to me before with forced air heating and cold air outside. Yeah the dry cracked skin and applying lotion isn't fun but until the weather breaks you may have to do that. You might try a humidifier for you room that might help a bit. Also taking too hot of a shower can dry your skin too so maybe cool it down a bit if you can.

If you have not been tested for Diabetes recently you might see the Doc and get a test for sugar. Some symptoms are drinking a great deal of water and urinating frequently.

I think it's the dry air within the building. I notice that happen when stores switch from air conditioning to heat. One thing to do would be to get a Cool-Air vaporizer to put in your room at home. Is everyone else in school feeling the same way? Maybe you can get together with the principal about getting some moisture put into the school. Don't give up, this is a health issue.

I think you need to be tested for diabetes, thyroid problems. Usually if there is diabetes in the family, this is most likely cause. Get in to your doctor's office or school health clinic and get a blood and urine test soon.

Sounds fimiliar. I would suggest you have an A1C test from your doctor or clinic. This test will show your average blood sugar levels over the past three months. May be diabetic.

It's probably really dry at the school you go to. With the heat being on in winter, it does not help either. You might want to use a humidifier at home.
