I had to do something like this for college, the decades was a good one. Show all the fashions from whatever decades you choose. The 60s through to the 2000s were the best ones. You can show how the fashions have changed and also how they are repeated. Getting songs for it will be easier too.

Fashion depicts what is happening in the world...so, you could go military (peace), earthy, retro, or what ever you feel reflects today...it's a form of art, so it should be your expression.
