NICKY,
CHILDREN, WHETHER THEY ARE NATURALLY CONCIEVED OR ADOPTED, ARE A BONUS TO A FAMILY. YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE CHILDREN TO BE A FAMILY.
MARRIAGE IS ABOUT LOVING YOUR MATE. IF THAT FAMILY HAPPENS TO HAVE KIDS, FINE, IF NOT, FINE. IT'S BOTH GOOD.

Well yeah you are still a family. I know a couple that never had kids they are in their late fifties now and they have always been a family as far as I have been concerned. They live with each other, they spend holidays together and they are there for each other when either of them needs support. It isn't having kids that defines you as a family it is a commitment to each other that defines you as a family.

Yes. You don't have to have kids. Your marriage is about you and your husband. If you had kids, 20 years later it will be you and your husband with no one in the home but each other.

Enjoy your family!

YES. it's called dual income no kids. oh my goodness...there are SOOO many websites for childfree. i will list a few...
www.dualincomenokids.com

or better yet (to prevent any unecessary flaming) just do a google or yahoo search for 'dual income no kids' and 'childfree'. you will find a WEALTH of information. don't let anyone or anything (famly, frineds, media) define for you your own personal definition of what a family is. society (media, people) has it programmed into us that a family unit is not complete if there are no children involved. you are one of very FEW people and a part of an small but ever growing population of individuals that have chosen not to have children. good for you.

Absolutely. No one ever said that just because you get married you have to have kids. Having kids does not make a family. You and your husband already are a family..having kids just adds to it.

Of course. The moment you get married. That person becomes your family. Your husband is your family. You don't have to have kids to be "a family"

Yes i thing you can. To me family is a group of people you can count on, who are there to look after your best interest, who love you and care about you. And if you both do this for each other sure you are a family.

I read a book about this once, it was called The Pilot's Wife. I don't think it's possible. Sometimes, I feel like he thinks even just having me is too much!

I would think so. Family is what you make it. My boyfriend and I have been talking about family and marriage a lot lately. I don't want kids and he does. That's our biggest issue. He has names picked out and everything.
