When you use a picture as your desktop background it may be stored elsewhere, ans thus the background will not change even if you delete the original copy. The best way to work around this problem will be to open another picture in "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" right click on the image and select "Set as desktop Background". i think this will solve your problem (and delete the original copies too!!!). Just so that you know the FBI can still find those pictures but i guess they are not the people you are trying to hide the photo from ;)

Find the picture, if they are still on your hard drive, and move them to another foler. Then go into your desktop background page and chance the background by using the "browse" to find another picture. Once you have done that, the picture want to delete should be gone from the desktop picture listing.
The delete the new folder you put the pictures into, and they will be gone.

You can delete anything from a hard drive completly and it will still be there. There are FBI and other governemnt agencies who specialize in Hard Drive Forensics. You could have deleted it, drilled a hole throught the drive and run over it with a car, and they could still recover it. Not to mention anything you download on the internet is monitered by the United States Patroit Act. So, long story short, whatch out what with what you put on your computer. But to Answer your question; McAfee has a file shreeding program for the computer, I suggest you pick that up.
