I don't know about sympathy pains, but my husband has gained some weight with me. I am 35 weeks pregnant and have gained like 35 pounds. Since I've been pregnant by husband has gained like 15 pounds. He actually has mini little love handles, which is totally odd because he has always been toned and trim. Good Luck :)

Yes you are having sympathy pains and you can get morning sickness and all the feelings she is having. It is not uncommon, just alot of males don't want to talk about it or admit it. Just bear with all and remember in the end you will not be the one giving birth so what you will go thru will be nothing compaired to the person caring the child. It is all worth it in the end!

Yes, actually it is. We all have a layer of mirror neurones in our brains that help us to be empathetic towards others. The lack of these mirror neurones has been found in people with mental conditions known for a lack of empathy. Also, if you have a strong emotional connection with the person, your response will be stronger as well, so you may not feel things to the exact same effect as the other person, but it is possible for you to get a taste of what it's like to be in their shoes!

This is so true, I am 23 weeks pregnant and my husband has started to have mood swings, hiccups, food cravings and a bloated tummy. I think its really cute, I did some research on it and its called Couvads syndrome and can occur in men who are emotionally close to their pregnant partners. Good Luck!

Yes its true,it is a known fact that men who have pregnant girlfriends or wives start to get pregnancy symptoms themselves...Im just surprised u havent gotten nausea and vomiting yet..= \
P.S "they say if your wife/girlfriend crawls over you or rolls over u while getting out of bed in the morning then that day u will feel as she is feeling" might wanna watch that =)

*LOL* Yes, definitly. Ask my poor hubby. In fact he gets symptoms sometimes worse than me. Just kidding, but it is definitly not far from the truth. Especially if it is your first child. I think it is usually because you love that person so much, but that is just an assumption. Congratulations.
11 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

It's called Kuvad's syndrome.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0506/18/hcsg.01.html
It's pretty common normal for men to get this when their partner is pregnant.
*edit*sorry I posted the wrong link hang on while I find you a real one...
Nope that was right, it was a record of a couple of men who experienced symptoms.
I actually found out about Kuvad's because of a special I saw on the discovery channel.
