Cable or DSL, and is the router seperate or integrated? Feel free to mail me the details. Are you wireless?

Ok, here is the deal, if you are on a cable modem, 3 options:
1. your signa strength is low, check with the cable providor and get a broadband drop amp if needed.

2. What kind of router? If it isnt integrated, try upgrading the firmware, or remove the router completely, go directly from the modem to the computer and see if it happens, if it doesn't, router issue.

3. If you are wireless, some cards, especially Macs can cause certain wireless routers to go haywire.

Worse case scenerio, jsut reboot your modem and router when it happens.

If it is DSL, pretty muchthe same steps, except for putting in a drop amp.

if you are using dsl (through phone company), do this:start/ control panel/ (with a blue back ground) click on network and Internet connections. (with white back ground, click on net work conn,)/ if you had the white back ground ignore this, now click on network connections/ you should see a icon "local area connection" RIGHT click/ properties/ no in a box like list, double click on Internet protocol/ dot the box " use the fowling ip address" now enter as this is, "IP: 192.168.1.15 Sub net mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.1.1"

For Cable do the same, but for the ip use this, "ip: 192.168.100.14 Sub net mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.100.1

Next: where it says "use the fowling DNS server addresses" enter the default gateway in there.
