Good spinning. I'm sure what he really meant was Israel live forever, huh? What was his real quote about the mahdi? The one I heard was some nonsense about the mahdi being in hiding for about 1,000 years and that he'd be coming back soon...

Propoganda aimed at "claimed propoganda" is what this link to page read you have posted says to me.
The opinion of "misunderstanding" by way of translation is a plausible opinion, but it is also clear, that since your linked to posts "proof" of such, by way of the linked to pages expression of this "mis-translation", that being where the words MAP, and EARTH were somehow misinterpreted as to translation, by all, still translates into the intent that President Ahmadinejad wants Zionistic belief and existence wiped off of something.
Are you aware of the facts that there is a MAP of the EARTH, that Israel is also on this map, and that all global efforts at peace are being shunned by only a select few?

This is a distinction without a difference.
I read the "correct" translation, and it means the same thing. "The regime occuppying Jerusalem" clearly means "Israel," and "be wiped off the map" is just a colloquial English translation of "vanish from the page of time."
