They look at me crazy! Why ask if you dont believe me. Just beause its rare doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Does anyone have expierence with this who can back me up?

I also have a daughter who is 3 yrs old and she walked at 8 months, so i'm not trying to brag about it, it just seems normal to me and it bothers me when people get so rude about it. Theres a lot of things that my kids cant do yet or as well as others.

I know how you feel...My daughter was crawling well by the time she was 5 months and walking well by 8 months (she is 10 months now), and when people ask me when she started I say well she started to walk well when she was 8 months and they look at me like "yeah right, you are just trying to show off" or something like that. Its really stupid, and I hate the fact that people dont believe me. Its not like I tell everyone about it or show it off and rub it in peoples faces like one of those crazy mothers either...I only tell people who ask, unless its family. I know how you feel though. I have a lot of friends that have babies and they ask me when Melody reached a certain milestone, so I tell them and they get all pissed off and jealous, jeeze its not like I rub it in their face like a lot of other mothers I know do. I think that all babies are different, and they will get there when they get there, you know what I mean? I have never really talked about my daughters milestones with any friends unless they ask becuase its such a touchy subject with some crazy freaked out mothers.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, I have been bothered with this for a bit too.

My oldest son walked when he was 7 months! He was the exception in our family. Other feats that he mastered early: he was potty trained at 9 months old (except for an occasional accident). He rode a small bicycle (no training wheels and no coaster brake) when he was 3 years old. He was talking very well by the time he was a year old and had a vocabulary that some 5 year olds can't match. He finished high school early (he was 16), and went on to finish college at an early age (20). He has his own business earning in the six figures.
This stuff happens, and I still can't believe it; we did push him a little harder than our other kids because he was our first and we didn't know any better. Good luck with your son - he may be the next Einstein. Just count him as a true blessing and ignore the goofballs of this world.

What a little cutie! Is he 9 months in the video? It is quite rare for an infant to fully walk at 7 months so I could see why people would be shocked. My babies started crawling at 7 months and 5 days. I have it on video because most babies can't crawl at that age. They walked and talked early too. I have worked in child care for many years and have seen babies at 9 months walk but none at 7 months. I believe you, he looks very strong and bright! You must be proud!

Kids do some pretty amazing things. I dont even believe my own mother when she tells me that I potty trained myself at one year old because I hated wearing diapers. So, that being said, you cant really get people to believe something if they dont want to. But, you can choose to not care if they believe you or not. Life is just less stressful that way :) That video is adorable. Oh and I hate to say it because I DO believe you, but the video only proves that he walks. It doesnt prove that he was 7 months old. My little girl started crawling at 7 months and immediately started pulling herself up to furniture and cruising, so I believe that he can walk. They are strong enough at that age, just most of them dont have the courage or the balance to try it!

My oldest (now 24) walked at 8 months. When we went for her 9 month check-up the pediatrician asked if she were crawling. When I said "No, not really, she's walking more now" she said "well, let's see how she is doing". I put her down & she walked across the room. the dr said "Wow! She didn't just start doing that yesterday because she's doing really well". I know he didn't believe me. People can be so stupid about things like that - why would I lie about that???? LOL Don't worry about it - just ignore their ignorance. GOOD LUCK!

:) I also walked when i was 7 months!! My mom told me that when I was 7 months we visited the pediatrician. My mum put me on the sofa to talk to the doctor and then suddenly I walked and reached the doctor's office. They were both surprised! The doctor said she had never seen a baby walking so soon and she suggested to write an article for the weekly magazine :) But my mum didn't accept as she thought there was no need.
Can I ask what date was your baby born? If he's 9 months now, it means he was born in April. I was born in April, too :)

My son walked very early just like yours. And I say walk I don't mean crusing or holding on to things like many other parents claim to be "walking". And I was so proud--he was my first and I couldn't wait for him to "grow up" if you will. Now I have my daughter who is totally the opposite and I hope she takes her time. They grow up so quick, I can't say that enough. I'm sure you heard that before.
On second note, walking is not uncommon. My entire family of babies all walked early. (7-9 months)
I know how you feel. It's bragging rights. That's all it is. But trust me it's not much to brag about and you won't have LONG to brag about it. Because VERY soon all babies that you may know around his age now will walk and him walking early won't even matter at all.

You're right...it is rare but it DOES happen. Who cares if they don't believe you? I know someone who had a bay walking at 7/12 months and another walking at 15 months. Don't sweat what people think. Just go on knowing that your children are amazing!

i believe you. My older daughter was almost 9 months when she started walking. She never even pulled up on things. She was just in the middle of the floor one day and stood up and started walking. Surely, me daughter wasn't the youngest baby in the world to start walking. It's a big milestone for your baby and I'm sure you are very proud of him. So what if people don't believe you. People can be very skeptical. Just ignore them.

Babies develop differently, my nephew walked at 7 months (ran is more like it) but doesn't tallk. My child spoke in sentences at 11months, nobody believes that either, but it's true. I let it bother me too, but only because I worried all the time and was looking for everyone's opinion. What I realized is that he was healthy, the dr wasn't worried and everybody has their own stories. It seems like kids are doing things a lot earlier than they used to, but that's a good thing, it means we are evolving and growing and changing and that's what we are supposed to be doing.
