Two small goldfish in a small tank or bowl should only be feed once a day, Every time they come to the surface they are not looking for food but air. They are more likely to die from being over fed other than starving to death.

Just feed them a little bit in the morning and a littl bit before you go to bed. Make sure you feed them at the same time of day too. They like schedules. If you want to feed them once a day, make sure it's always at the same time every day. Fish are really smart and will learn over time to not eat it all at once. If you feed them once a day, it should be enough to feed them but not make the water get all grimy either. I had the same problem with my fish. Good Luck!!

It's best to feed your fish a tiny, tiny amount (like 1 or 2 little flakes) two or three times a day. It's true that overfeeding a fish will kill him faster than underfeeding. In their natural habitat fish swim around all day looking for food. They get little bits of food at a time all day long. In order to keep your fish healthy you need to replicate that natural diet, so tiny, tiny feedings a few times a day will be best for your goldfish. Also, you need to do frequent water changes too. I've been able to keep my fish alive and healthy for a very long time by following these steps. Good luck to you.

Goldfish cannot eat enough. I recommend filling their tank so full of food that they have about an inch to swim in. Fill that inch with those delayed-release food things that disolve in water. The fatter the goldfish is the better it will fillet
