Somebody at Y!Answers Taiwan read in newspaper that it is a taboo to touch a black child's head. Personally I think such a taboo exists. But to be safe, I'd like to ask if anyone knows if the taboo is real or fabricated?

To be completely honest about this question you have to first admit that any "taboo" just doesn't have any place in modern society. It is all a bunch of superstitious malarkey and to tell you the truth if "taboos" are still to exist in peoples minds, I would say there should be more of a "taboo" to even give recognition or mention to such a silly, silly piece of folklore.
Besides, I have touched many a black child's head and I can tell you for sure to touch any childs head in love is a blessing.

I'm an African American and I have never heard of such a thing. It's not really a taboo to touch any child's head unless the child themselves doe not want their head to be touched.

Looking at your picture it seems to me you are not a child you are just a grown immature women asking a question such as this. You really need to get a life and do something more productive in it. If you like reading and researching perhaps you would go to school an research something sensible.

It harkens back to an old, very bigotted tradition regarding luck.
It stands to reason that this would still be perpetuated in less developed countries. Enlighten people, stop the spread of such nonsense.

I know it's not good to touch a newborn's head because there is a soft spot right on the center top. But this doesn't fall under the category of just black babies, it's all babies.
