I mean it's easy to wax around but really hard to get all the hairs where it counts. Does shaving do the trick and is there any repercussions when doing this? I don't fancy paying someone $30 every two weeks to get this waxed off. Also how common is it to get rid of pubic hair and how much do you get rid of. I'm behind the times. Are there any guys out there who don't expect this??

Shaving is okay. It dries out your skin a bit and causes a lot of ingrowns. Sometimes it itches when it grows back in as well. Not to mention you'll have to shave a lot more often then you'll have to get it waxed. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to spend money or shave every couple of days. I would wax if I had the money and wasn't weirded out by that idea! LOL!

Shaving does work. I did it for about 10 years. If you shave you have to do it pretty much every day, at least every 2 days. If you're starting from scratch you'll need to cut the hair down to about 1/8" with scissors first. Exfoliate (I can't emphasize this enough.). Use shaving gel (I think it works better than shaving cream.). Use a fresh razor blade. The Venus razors work well. You can use the blade about 4 times in this area. If you want a REALLY close shave you have to go against the grain. I shaved everything off. Now I go to a waxer. The reason I switched was because of razor burn and in-grown hairs. You really can't avoid either of those pitfalls no matter how good you are at following the instructions. My aesthetician charges $65 for a full Brazilian. I have it done every 5 weeks. I'm not very hairy and my hair is fine. So, I don't need it any more often than that. The first wax hurts REALLY bad, but after that it doesn't hurt as bad. Also, it is wonderful to be free from shaving. For me, it's worth it. I also use a product by DHC called "less hair" or something like that. You can find it on their website. It helps to slow the growth of hair and make the hair that comes back in even finer. I think using that product makes a lot of difference in how often I have to go get waxed. Also, American men DO expect tidiness down there. You don't have to go full-Brazilian but you do need to do some trimming and shaving around the edges.

Elmstar, You should make a trip to BeaverShaver.com and purchase a Seiko Cleancut Shaver. A shaved puss is as appealing to a man as the baby soft skin of a man's face is to a woman. A man's face will start to itch if he doesn't shave every day. Fortunately, the hair down there doesn't grow as quickly as the hair on a man's face. What women don't realize is that the regular use of a manual razor and shaving cream causes the skin to become too sensitive. Hair regrowth becomes a big problem. I used to use an electric shaver on my face instead of a manual razor. My face was less sensitive when I used the electric shaver. I feel dirty if I don't shave my face every day. Waxing does last a few weeks, but it can be extremely painful. Someone would have to pay me at least $200 to have the hair on my face waxed, and there's still a good chance that I would not I have my face waxed. I would probably just keep the money. Shaving won't cause the skin to become dry and irritated if you use Aloe Vera or baby oil after you shave. I think a shaved puss is very sexy. How much hair should you remove? Sixty percent of American women take it all off. Some women do have problems with itching after they shave it all off. Hydrocortisone cream usually solves that problem. The skin eventually develops a tolerance to regular shaving. All this talk of shaving is making me hungry. I need to go and eat a slice of pie.

ive shaved for years and i really hate it. its fine just be careful. i use a shave gel for sensitive skin and be sure to follow up with lotion after so you dont itch! make sure your blade is fresh and sharp because dull blades will make the irritation worse. it will grow back quickly though. and yes i get rid of ALL of it. be sure to exfoliate with a loofah as it grows back to prevent any ingrown hairs. i've found the the more often i shave the more irritated my skin gets.

it is very common to get rid of pubic hair. there are a lot of guys who expect it but if you're with someone who really likes you then i dont think they would make an issue of it.

waxing really isnt that bad.. you probably werent using the right type of wax for that area. i suggest GiGi brazilian hard wax. you dont wax every two weeks also. waxing lasts 3 weeks or more then you have to wait for it to grow long enough to wax again. its not as bad as you think. i would suggest you get it professionally done so you can see what they do.. then you can do it yourself with a kit...

however you decide to do it, good luck to you! :)

I suggest getting waxed every once in a while. Shaving does work. the only bad thing is that you have to do it everyday or it hurts and gets stubbly. That's the only bad thing. It doesn't matter about what everyone else does all that matters is if shaving or waxing down there makes you feel more attractive and if it does don't worry about everyone else. It's not like everyone is going to see it. ; )

It's too common to get rid of pubic hair Shaving with a razor usually does the trick, except irritation and bumps occur. It doesn't get rid of ingrown hairs.

When I don't want to have it waxed I use that VEET razorless depilatory, apply it before I get in the shower and rinse off before I get out. I pretty much just remove the top portion and then leave a "landing strip" (Sex and the City episode!!...) Meaning remove all hair on the sides. Then trim down the remaining hair.

Personally I use hair removal cream, shaving can be a bit hard there specially since it's such sensitive skin. Can be itchy too. It grows back nice and soft etc with the cream, I think you can also get it in mousse form now too, certainly worth you trying it!

Shaving works well for me. As to how much I usually take off, I usually just leave a thin strip down the center. and i don't blame you, I wouldn't pay someone either!!
hope this helps!
good luck:)
