I am having a birthday party for my soon to be 8 year old daughter and we are going to make our own make-up. I am going to use vaseline to make lip gloss and put it into individual containers and let the girls mix in ultra fine glitter. Does anyone know how to then give it just a little bit of color like a light pink or purple....the colors that this age girls would like and I would like to have available are:
red
pink
blue
purple
Also if you can think of any other make up that they can make themselves, please let me know and how to do it. I know we are also going to make body lotion the same way just buy one big bottle of plain white and then add glitter unless I can find one that is colored in a big bottle that we can put into individual containers. Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

I had a birthday party like that once.
My mother got a kit that had do it yourself make up, I can't remember for the life of me what it was called, though.

I do know that you can crush up eyeshadow (cheap eyeshadow) and mix it into a small pot of clear vaseline, lip gloss or chapstick and it makes tinted gloss.

Nail polish:
to make colored nail polish, crush up eyeshadow in any color. Mix it with white nail polish and combine, adding more if necessary.

food coloring can also be used.

Lip gloss:
to make lip gloss, mix food coloring or other dye with vaseline.

this can also be used as a blush.

mix fine glitter with either to make a shimmer.
(and yes, those are my words!)

It's no one of a kind than a sister or buddy doing it, particularly.

first off thats a cute idea!
well they actually make "make-your-own-lipglosses"
i got one for my birthday years ago.
it was cute and fun.
try to mix it in with pink lip gloss.
smackers is good because: they are made for young girls, they have color but dont show up like other lip glosses, and they smell delicous!

also, try manicures and pedicures!

The easiest way to make makeup is to buy it at the store and add your own ingredients. My husband recently tried adding food coloring to his mascara and he has never looked better. God thinking about him right now I just want to slam my head into my keyboard in lust.
