ok the thing is went i push the bottom of the pilot to turn it on the flame go on but inmedialate went stop to push the bottom the flame turn off too and they dont let me turn on the heater i dont know what happen help please

whats happening now is that the pilot light stays on, but when i turn valve on the heater does not want to turn on...I tried to put the cables together from the thermostat because i know that i if i put them on together the heater will turn on, even if the thermostat is damaged..and what i cant figure out is which part is broken?

Well, when the heater wont lite even after depressing the pilot knob and holding it,it's usually due to the thermocouple going bad.Did you try depressing it and turning at the same time? If not try that.Sometimes you need to hold it down after you light it for 45 seconds then turn it while depressed.If this don't work either,than you need to replace the thermocouple.Its the little part where the pilot light comes out of.

The flame should be hitting a little metal thing that's a heat sensor. It tells the heater that the pilot light is lit and to let the gas flow. If the sensor is bad or you're not holding the button down long enough to let it warm up, the gas will stop when you release the button.

you have to hold the button down till the sensors read that the pilot light is working then you can turn it and it will stay on.
