I want a unique baby name.. but it seems everyones going for 'unique' all of a sudden. I am trying to stay away from Aiden or Jayden, even though I like these names... because they are so overly used! one name I came across is 'Draegon" it means 'dragon hearted' or 'fire hearted' ... pronounced Dray-ghen... one of the same ways you will pronounce jay-dhen.. i want the truth.. but kep your mind open. say the name out loud once or twice... and understand im not ever going to name my kid bob or jim (not that those are bad names! :) ! thank you for your help. I also will take some suggestions, besides your ideas on the name ive picked. :)

OK... seriously people... like, jayden hayden, and aiden alllll sound like draegon... what is the diffrence? for real? I hate names like beckham and trenton and hunter.. to me, THEY sound hideous. like i said.. say the name.. also, understand that other boys would think of his name being 'cool'

Suprisingly, I really like it. If you say it a few times I think it gets cooler. All the boys will be jealous of that name! Lucifer is pretty cool also. I like Ramsy, Corbin, Paulex, and Reese. Good luck!

Just a suggestion when picking a name, try to think ahead to when he's in school and the teacher has to call out the name for roll (difficulty in pronunciation) or what other kids will warp the name into for nasty nicknames (Dragon, gay-dray, etc.) Sometimes a little toned down on the uniqueness factor is beneficial to the kid in his development.
Zander or Xander, Ahren (like aaron), Alec
Good luck!

My sister works in an elementary school and there is a kid there named Cologne, pronounce "Co-Lon-Ge". That poor kid. Just don't name him that! But seriously, think of a name that can go with what you're child wants to do, not what you want him to do. To me, Draegon sounds like someone obsessed with reneisance fairs. Consider if your son wants to be a doctor, lawyer, Nascar driver... ya never know!! Maybe try a spelling that's not one letter away from dragon. Maybe Draygan, it's a pretty name, reminds me of Dagan McDowell and economist on FoxNews. Maybe save Dagan for a daughter and name your son something that his school friends will think is less cool, but his collegues will think is more professional. He will be a man longer than he will be a boy. Some unique men's names I like are Teague, Carter, my grandfather and g-grandfather names Ransom (nicknames Rammy, Ranny, Ranse), and my father's name Kort.

I actually like the name, I just don't like how it's spelled. Are they other spelling choices that would make it easier for others to figure out how it's pronounced? Draygen perhaps. Personally I like traditional names that are a little unique...for boys I like the names Timothy and William. But I also like names like Aiden. Lately though I've met more girls named Jayden then boys. If you like Draegon then use it! I liked the name Lucia for our girl but lots of people hated it, I ended up naming her Lily. I don't regret it, but now there are sooooo many girls being named Lily too. I'm afraid she'll fell like I did as an Emily in school.

I am in the same boat as you. I have until August to decide. I want something different but not too different that my son will get teased. I was just looking at names and I have decided on a few I like. Jackson, Cole, Chase, and Devin are among some that I like. I like Draegon but I agree that he may endure some teasing if he is not a tough guy. It also sounds to me, when I say it outloud like I have a Newfoundland accent. Which I must say, I love that accent, but no one will ever pronounce it properly. Good luck. I hope you find something cool and fresh!

honostly that name just sounds like dragon maybe Draeton would be better.. just make sure you pick a good name that can't get nicked named, bc if he goes by a more simple nickname its kinda defeating the purpose of you naming him something unique. but here are some names i found that were kinda cool, but not too weird: Ace, Aeden, Adley or Adney, Draven, Galen, Camden, Bates, Blaine, Bracken, Braidon, Davion..
there is a lot on this website.. you just have to sort out all the average names www.babynamesworld.com

It has to be your choice. Just remember and take pity on the poor little guy---He's going to have to live with it all of his life, even after that name is no longer "IN". Some of the spellings of the names today look like the mother didn't know how to spell when they signed the birth certificate and the kids have to go through life spelling their name or pronouncing it for everyone. You can't even tell a boy from a girl with some of them. If you love the little guy----BE KIND!!!!!

I think its a very unique and great name. I personally like the unique names the most because I believe that every person is unique. And I agree that Aiden and Jayden are somewhat over used but they are still great names. I say go for it and name your baby Draegon....Its awesome!

Hmm...at first i thought no way sounds like a dragon kid BUT after i said it a few times...I like it! It is pretty cute. Kids will probably make fun of him and call him Draegon the Drago but kids will make fun of almost anyone for anything. I give the name a thumbs up. Also what about Keagan? Tha is nice too.
