Strike off in one direction (west) and you have a good sized park---beyond that a spillway creek that is in constant flow--- a little farther and you arrive at the country club---the university is just five minutes past there
Another direction (east) and you are at the market street general stores (about 1/2 mile) -- just beyond that is a Home Depot and two grocery stores (and across from them they've already started the largest Walmart in the state )----just across from that is a very elaborate air park for smaller aircraft
Head out North and you have a very large area of some of the finest upper end homes in the county and one of the poshist middle schools in North Texas (some of the kids arrive in limos)
But don't even THINK of striking out South of here straight away
because THAT land is owned by the Grand Poopa of the Bad Do Da Days and he doesn't want anyone crossing his fence line-- even has a couple of gorillas on horse back to patrol it !! Has his own helicopter pad !! If you could get thru there without getting shot--- there is a super fine lake back there !!!

In my neighborhood there are no stores within 1.2 miles. So it would be a long walk. However, if you walk it, you get to a shopping center with a bank, large grocery, Panera, barber, eyeglass, casual restaurants and several shoe & clothing stores.
