I don't know, how do Americans take medicine? I get all my medication free on the NHS for life because I have a medical condition which will not go away and is on a list of things (including diabetes, pensioners, children and pregnant women) where you get free medication. Others aren't so lucky, cancer patients have to pay for theirs, and conditions like cystic fibrosis where you were not expected in the past to live beyond childhood, they have to pay for theirs. Is this the kind of thing you meant?

Probably not, since a course of antibiotics in Britain costs the going rate of a prescription charge, and a course of antibiotics in America costs over £125.00! Don't get a throat infection in America unless you've got good insurance.....
