How can a person record digital TV signal on a DVD recorder?

I haven't found a way to record the digital movie on cable to a DVD recorder. Any figured out how to do it?

If your TV has a video out connector, use that as an input to the DVD recorder. However, the movie may be copy protected so you can't do a direct (or indirect) copy.
