I love political dialog, and argument. Why try to get rid of me? Why not try to convert (haha) me? Or spell out your disagreements?

One answer-er just wanted to call me names, and denigrate my intelligence instead of giving me facts to back up his answer. It made me think he didn't have a leg or platform to stand on.

I assure you, opening up the flood gates of email is not a good idea.
I often have a fairly unpopular opinion being a Canadian with liberal values.

The amount of hate filled nonsensical email I received while I had that function enabled was obscene. I was slightly pleased that I had such a profound impact on peoples lives that they took the time to get angry enough to compose an email. However at the same time slightly disturbed that many resort to personal attacks of a complete stranger when you opinion is unfavorable.

Just deal with the deleted questions, some people will never be able to get past the fact that their opinion is only valuable to themselves and go ahead and report in a pathetic attempt to censor an opposing thought.

Some feel thretened by things they dont understand and erasing it makes it go away i guess. also presenting facts on a theoretical platform can be very difficult. but dont be disheatened, conversing is like seed planting, they only grow if they fall into a little **** once in awhile!

That seems to be the pattern here. Some of them will click on your ID to see all the questions you answered and then file phony abuse reports on all of them. That just happened to me again this week and I got 8 violation notices in 1 day. My record still stands at 17 though. The thing that's most aggrivating about it is that the Yahoo Gestapo just violate you without looking at them and they ignore your protest e-mails too.

Bingo! He probably didn't have anything productive to offer. Many of the posters are cowards, hiding behind the anonymity Yahoo Answers provides. When they don't have a valid argument, they resort to name-calling. Stick around and you'll see.

Because their minds are already made up and you are confusing them with facts.

I've another question that goes along with yours. Why are people even allowed to post questions if they won't allow E-mails? Many in here say rediculious things in their posts and questions. You know they are instigators and are trying to elicit a response. Yet they don't allow you to contact them semi-directly?

Some people are only in favor of a free exchange of opinions when everyone's opinion is the same as theirs. I don't know your politics, but unless you were calling for human sacrifice or the assassination of the President, nobody should report you.

You probably struck a nerve & your answer probably hit the nail right on the head. Good luck! I believe insecurity has a lot do with reports being made.

They are cowards and have no fact or reason behind their views a typical liberal tactic stifle the voice or reason and fact
yell fact-less and reasonless BS in response
No freedom of speech for opposing views as they are to cowardly to even hear other views

sadly, it happens all too often on yahoo answers. i may make a bit light of someone's question, and have even given good answers, right answers and been reported for abuse. i just blow it off to thei own ignorance, and go on. besides, i really don't care whether anyone likes what i say, and i'm not about to start now.
