its an even more reason to believe in a conspiracy.What are they hiding that is so bad.Our government treats us like we are babies and that we can't handle the truth about the JFK assassination.The government cleaned the presidents car after he was killed why?

lbj planned out the route to include an acute turn that would slow the motorcade to 10 miles per hour right at the corner of the texas book depository!!lyndon johnson would probablly been dropped from the presidential ticket at the next election and that would have been the end of his entire political carreer!!j.edgar hoover didn't want to be mandatorially and non-consentually retired and tried to blackmail the both of the kennedy' brothers with wiretaps he had made with sam giancanna in marilyn monroes liasons with them both as a means to maintain his power!!the mob wanted them died also for deporting carlos marcello as an undesirable alien,he was the head of the mob throughout the south!!!and jack ruby was his man!!!!toss in a few angryanti-castro cubans and stir!!!the mob was using cuban super-patriots to regain cuba for the prostitution,gambling and agricultural sugar and tobacco plantation they had owned or controled there before castro 's revolution!!a taxfree haven for mafia rule less than a hundred miles off of our shores!!george bush senior wanted the oil drilling rights offshore in cuba and had devoted many ships to the bay of pigs invasion before he was the head of the c.i.a. or even an elected or appointed governmental entity!!one of the ships was named after the current president then just a child!!zapata offshore oil drilling company!!!most of the key "principals" of the kennedy assassinations have died of old age without ever having been stood up and shot for treason...that's what we should as a country be thinking about!!

I used to think there was a conspiracy, until I realized what a screw-up the government is, and that I was giving them way too much credit. I can now more easily believe there was a lone gunman, than that the government was so adept at a conspiracy and cover up that 40+ years and god-knows how many people and resources later, nothing conclusive has surfaced to prove otherwise. That would have been a feat the government hadn't accomplished before and not since.

I am a Kennedy assassination scholar and you have your information wrong. Whoever told you this was terribly misinformed. Here are the actual facts:

1. Originally Lyndon Johnson ordered the sensitive materials surrounding the assassination of JFK sealed until the last member of the Kennedy family had died. John Jr. was the youngest and he was 4 at the time of Kennedy's death. Kennedy was assassination on November 22, 1963 and LBJ ordered those items sealed for 75 years (assuming that by the time John Jr. was 79 he would either be dead or would no longer care.). That would place the date at 2038. So right off the bat your date is wrong.

2. Congress passed the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) in the late 1960s which allowed serious scholars to access great amounts of these previously-sealed materials. The Zapruder film, the autopsy photographs, x-rays and previously sensitive materials were all released throughout the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In the early 1990s (following a public uproar following Oliver Stone's movie "JFK") hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pages of previously sealed materials were released to the media. They are virtually all released as of this date. If you were to compare the contents that were sealed to the water in an Olympic-sized swimming pool it would be accurate to say that only a few cupfuls of water remain in the pool.

3. Immediately assassination scholars poured over these released materials in hopes of finding any evidence of a conspiracy. Sadly for them, there was none. No smoking guns, no suppressed confessions, no previously unseen photographs or films. Nothing.

4. During the HSCA hearings in 1977 and 1978 Chief Counsel Robert Blakey (who believes in a conspiracy) told the press, "I've seen EVERY single sealed document the government has. And there is NOTHING in there to support beliefs in a conspiracy."

As of today's date (January 19, 2007) there has not come forth one single scrap of evidence, not one speck of evidence, not one drop of evidence to support the beliefs that there was ANY conspiracy in the death of Kennedy. ALL evidence points to one and only one person. Lee Harvey Oswald.

If anyone thinks they have evidence that Oswald didn't do it or that others were involved I will happily clarify the facts on ANY point raised. Simply send me a question through Yahoo-Answers and I will respond immediately. There are NO unanswerable questions concerning the Kennedy assassination.

I think Joe DiMaggio had him killed, for the whole Marilyn thing. Perhaps they believe Joe will have no surviving relatives by that time. But there are many reasons that someone would want to off JFK (Bay of Pigs, Mafia ties etc...). Perhaps some info included in the documents would endanger an "important" person.

I beleive if we need to know the government will tell us and would never lie. I also believe that pigs can fly. Thats my thought on this:)
