The Departed, The Good Shepherd, or Children of Men. I have to choose one of these 3 tonight that I haven't seen yet, but I can't decide. And since I hardly get a good opportunity to go to the movies, I want to make it good. Tell me which you think is best and why, but don't ruin the movie please!

The Departed and Children of Men are the better of the 3 (although all 3 are good)
If you're in a sci-fi/futuristic mood, then Children of Men. It's a different film, but it is enjoyable.
The Departed has more of an Oscar buzz going on at the moment and is a good story. It's got the best acting of your 3 options and is one of the best films i saw last year. I liked it more than Children of Men.

I heard The Good Shepherd was bad, and honestly I thought it looked boring.
Haven't seen The Departed but not because I don't want to, just haven't had time. Looks very good. Comparable to similar mobster/cop movies, but with a lot of A-list actors.
Children of Men was awesome. Very intense though. A sci fi about a future where women are infertile. A super violent movie that actually made my girlfriend cry from the sheer scariness of it. But in the end a great movie.
So. Mobsters or a bleak future. Both great movies, just depends on what you want to watch.

Depends on what kind of mood you're in. I have not seen anything on any of these movies. I'll give you a couple links. They have trailers on them and you can watch the trailers then decide! Enjoy your movie!

children of men because its about the last generation on earth and people haven't had babies since 2009! its really good!

Don't waste your time with The Good Shepherd.
I like DeNero's work, but this is a real bad film, long, slow and weak.
