I would have said yes, but i've heard from his neigbour that he's rigged up a high tensile mini trampoline in the fireplace. Gonna be a case of back at yer buddy, so i suggest opting for paper bags full of angel delight. If it's a goer, i,m in.

First off, I would classify myself as between minarchist libertarian and anarcho-capitalist, but your question is one of the reasons why I don't make a jump toward the anarcho camp. I would have to say that in an anarcho-capitalist society, privatized security agencies (PSA I will use) would end up competing in localized areas and regions and probably what would end up happening is that 2 or maybe 3 would end up surviving after the initial set up (public agencies abolished) in a typical medium populated area. Regarding your example: there would actually have to be some laws set up to handle disputes between the PSAs in cases such as this, which will inevitably arise. There would have to be privatized arbitration courts to handle claims against property. So, for example, what could have developed is a contract between PSAs "A" and "B: which would have ruled any dispute over claims against property rights are settled by one agency being allowed to search another's property under the agreement if certain sufficient evidence is produced to suspect a property crime. Otherwise, the search is not allowed and if violated, the property owner can sue for damages if they search his property by force. Or in case of dispute, there will be a civil case to determine what is to done in a certain privatized arbitration court. The complications of such a system are what keeps me in the valley between libertarian miniarchism and anarcho capitalism. This could also apply to national defense, country borders and seas, and even public roads and highways. Not that it can't be done, but many problems and confusions arise and it is difficult to resolve many situations without a "state", even though the 'state' more times than not doesn't do a very good job.
