Ants seek warm dry shelters and food sources. You may see them more often when it's especially cold or rainy. Here's the best and most thorough method I've found, step-by-step:
1. Determine exactly where the ants are entering the room. Check windows and doorways especially.
2. Find out where the ants are feeding in your space. If there is any food or standing water, get rid of it. (Store-bought bait traps will only be effective if there is no other food source!)
2. If you are able, use caulk or some other sealant to reinforce cracks that are letting the ants in. Duct tape or vaseline also work as temporary blockages.
3. Sprinkle trails of black pepper, paprika, or chili pepper in areas where you know the ants hang out. This is a great natural remedy, and is totally non-toxic to you and your pets. Powdered laundry detergent also works for this.
4. If you can see a trail of ants, wash them away with soapy water. This works because ants secrete a chemical that directs other ants to their trail--if you wash away the chemical, they'll be much less likely to return there.
5. Come back to the area where you saw the ants about an hour later. If a few single ants are still around, these are "scouts" that are still searching for a way in! Get rid of these with soap too, and your problem should be cured.
Best of luck!!

Buy ant baits. We get them something awful every spring. We buy a couple different brands of bait and there are different kinds of ants. Also get a cleanser and clean every trail because they find your room because of the scent left by the other ants.

You just wanna find out where theyre coming from and pour baby talcum power all around the edges and entrance to your room. Really tump it up. It sounds a bit crazy but it worked for me , this is because they cannot walk on the talc so they go elsewhere and for the place where theyre coming from just put some ant killer down

I had the same issue. I got some ant traps at Wal-Mart (like 6 traps) and they are gone!
They are in the dept where paper towels / plates are sold.

There really is a simple way or getting rid of them.
If you eat some of them and let the others live they will tell the rest of them to stay away; that there is more danger inside than outside.
Ask one and you get one.
