Did you know there is a novel entitled "H" (I forgot the author's name, I know it's a woman) about those three years when Heathcliff left home?

I think you should probably focus more on how they are still very similar. No one really escapes the past, and in the second half of the novel, the past hangs over and taints all that goes on in the newer generation.
