should be more select when it comes to people who are out of touch with reality or are or appear to be mentally challenged when they let them through to be humiliaited?
I find this VERY disturbing that they would exploit people who are not quite there for ratings. My husband and I were like wait til they get an autistic person up there but then again they would probably have perfect pitch ( LOL ) and have something said mean to them and see what happens.
Yes I have an autistic child but if they didn't have talent to sing, I wouldnt encourage them to pursue that career.
BUT the point is, do you really think America is twisted to sit there and make fun of these people who are mentally ill or delusional.
And what happens if they are told you suck at singing ( and its their passion ) and they go home and kill themselves cause they arent right in the head?
talking about mentally challenged folks here.
sorry so long, your thoughts?

I agree. parents and friends need to be more supportive in telling the people they don't have singing talent before they go on the show and audition and have the camera in their face and the judges laughing. it is horrible to see someone crying so badly because they really thought they were good but no one around them cared to tell them don't try singing- try something else. parents and friends need to be more understanding with their child/friend before it comes to horrible America getting a chance to laugh in their face

Me and my wife were just talking about this I find very upseting that some of these people are clearly mentally impaired and really think that they can sing. I don't think they should be put on a national spotlight and be insulted. But this is America were rating and money weigh more than morals and being a decent human. Just Change the channel thats what we do.

I don't think that they are mentally challenged ...just a bit strange
they would not let them go threw the door if they were..
and I think some just want to be on tv.....they may get a part in a comedy ..who knows that is how ya get discover here ... i do watch the show but i would never laugh if i thought that ..you can't take it serious ...I think they are proud and believe they can do it ..and the stranger ones took it better then the others I think.
They didn't cry like a baby..

I don't watch it until it gets down to the final eliminations, about 24 to go, something like that, don't like how they are mean to people who really have no clue. However, if the person is halfway intelligent, they get what they signed up for, a chance or a verbal beating.

it is what makes the practice great. To get chosen you could desire to truly have something. in case you think of you have expertise and not some stupid pipe dream then you truly might desire to stroll the gauntlet. right here the practice might desire to take no mercy in any respect, and the threat of what you notice happening to others might desire to be sufficient to cull a variety of of the riff-raff and pass via purely those with confirmed expertise and ability, in any different case something of the approach might purely be a shaggy dog tale. The previous adage " in case you won't be in a position to take the warmth....." Works for this practice. actual, some human beings in all probability get a healthful fact inspect of it, and others are purely there to be the fool interior the 1st place, so as that they are truly getting what they desire just to be considered. long stay the practice, and it works because of the fact that's tricky, propose, merciless and rewarding, purely like something of the international.

I have to agree with you.
I don't really like most reality TV shows because of that.
America only wants to watch dirt and that is all that's on TV these days...dirt.
They feed from other people's misery...it's cruel.

yeah, its kind of wrong.
they should at least NOT air the people who are "out of touch with reality" or mentally challenged on tv.
i also think it was wrong of simon to say that one of the contestant persons looked like a "bush baby" in front of him, let alone out loud.

yeah i agree Vandy. If it weren't for Simon, as mean as he is, people wouldn't watch the show. I know that I stop watching the show after they have the auditions. But I do agree with you that they could let up somewhat.

No they should keep it the way it is. If it wasn't for Simon and horrible auditions I'd never bother to watch it, and neither would half the other viewers.
