On the surface, there are about a million reasons.
At the root of it, there are just a few:
* selfish beyond belief
* absolutely zero respect for the wife or the mistress
* arrogance thinking they can 'fool' wife & string along mistress
* thinks women are pieces of meat or playthings
* no spine, no backbone: can't just confront wife and say "we have problems we must confront and resolve" - a huge chicken s h i t -- this leads to being an almost compulsive liar
There ya go.
He'll offer "I was lonely" or "You got fat" or "My sex drive is too high" or "She seduced me" but all those are just leaves on the tree. The roots are listed for you.

There a various reasons for this type of behavior. Some men are just dogs. In some cases it is because something is missing or the wife is not providing some level of comfort or encouragement the man needs. Not that this an excuse to cheat. It is not the big things but the little things. I don't believe in cheating but i do see it happen. Drunk or hi is not an excuse. Some men it is just the sexual thought or physical appearance of a woman that arouses him

Because they're looking for attention and excitement. Most women, not all, go from wives to mothers in 9 months. The man loses his romance partner. He goes from being #1 in the womans life to 2,3 or 4. Some women forget that they were a wife before they became a mother. By the way.....women cheat on their husbands also.

Men cheat on their wives, sometimes, because the wives want them to. Some wives would rather have the man out of the house so they can hang out with their girlfriends (or boyfriends) and go partying or shopping or whatever. They would rather spend the guy's money and have him cheat than have his affection and attention.

Not all Men cheat. Most of the time its because lost of interest on both parts. Need more adventure or attention. Sometimes women cause the cheating by not showing the attention Men needs.

because they are unfaithful to their husbands. Also some women refuse to give sex to their husband and guess what, he has to cheat. I am not agreeing it's a good thing. I am just telling it as it is. Women should keep fit so they look attractive to their husband. The husband is still in the wrong, but the woman should ask this question, am I at fault also? What did I do wrong?

It is not just men that cheat. Your question should be why do people cheat on their spouses. And unfortunately there is not a good answer for this. Call it weakness, or insecurity, but it sucks, I do know that.
I am sorry if this happened to you, but do not waste time thinking about this. It will not help to solve anything.

women also cheat on there husbands I guess some people get a rush or something out of it, it would be nice if all the cheaters ended up together and all the true loving people ended up together but as they say it's not a perfect world

Some would say there's no such thing as a stupid question... I beg to differ since I believe a stupid question is a question with no answer... except to say the same reason Wives cheat on their husbands. marriages are snowflakes... no two are the same... so no reason is the same. of course you can do a survey and find a median... big deal... evey situation is different. She's lousy in bed... her B.J's are no good... she's a terrible cook, she got fat...she got skinny, I hate her mother, her feet smell, she's cold and un-emotional, she's too emotional, her breasts are to small, her breasts are too big, not enough sex...to much sex... she won't listen, she wants me to express myself, she won't let me express myself... she's only got one leg, she HAS two legs, she's too tall, she's too short, she dyed her hair, she refuses to dye her hair... the list goes on and on and on...and on... PICK YOUR FAVORITE.

unmet needs. this is the #1 reason.
wife is not meeting all of their needs.
try to stay on top of your man's needs and meet as many as possible to make yourself the woman of choice when he has a need. if you meet his needs he will come back next time he has the need.
psychological problems (like sex addiction)
this is a different kind of problem that you cannot control.
try to avoid marrying someone with this problem.
if you have, there needs to be treatment to recover before you can have a better life.
