They have given the guy that flips burgers at McDonald's a raise...so why have they not approved the Military Budget yet? I need to buy things to take care of soldiers and I can not because Pelosi and the Democrats prefer to give uneducated people more money and to give themselves a pay raise...is this fair?
This is a serious question I was looking today to buy some things and build a new office in my warehouse, but I can't because we do not have the budget yet...this is insane....

Bert I can tell you the Republicans had our budget approved usually by November...it is now almost Feb...
Honestly, I could careless about the people working a minimum wage...if you have to survive on it, it is your fault and you should better yourselves...where do you think companies are going to get the money to raise their wages? WE will have to pay for it...so when a bigmac costs $5 you can blame it on Pelosi...I am in the job of taking care of soldiers and their families...where were are you advocates for higher wages when Clinton had soldiers that were on food stamps to survive...and oh yea do some checking...the Congressional pay rasies were on the minimum wage bill...but Liberals never see anything, unless they can blame Bush for it....

The people who do menial labor...they may work hard...but you should try to better yourself instead of wanting a hand out...and for all you who say you don't want tax dollars to go for the war...why should soldier's children suffer...I work at a hospital...I don't want my tax dollars going to welfare...

You are 100% correct...the Congress should get off of their surgically enhanced @sses and do something for the real works in the US....Liberal cry and whine about the poor people...Soldiers need to be taken care of first....Bill Bob working at Burger King should not...

It is a bad move by Nancy that hurts small businesses who need to invest in labor. Pelosi has just taken away profits from small business owners while also decreasing the value of everybody else's pay.
This also hurts the economy by weakening the dollar. Artificially increasing the minimum wage causes inflation which raises demand, but not supply. Consequently, the poor and uneducated get a very brief bump in their purchasing power until business must raise prices to make profits.
This as the money runs out the people who just took a bump get laid off and lose their ability to work anyway as businesses fold under the increased prices in demand and supplies.
A minimum wage hike is a bad idea all around. It is a precursor to a recession where the unskilled lose anyway.
As for your budget, unless you are part of the Federal Government, how you budget is up to you.

You are ridiculously ignorant. As for minimum wage, that raise is too long due! How are people who work in those positions supposed to survive on $5.15? And who are you to say they are "uneducated"? You're the uneducated one. And to all those who claim that small businesses will fold because of higher wages, you're misinformed as well. These same businesses have been making money hand over foot for decades, working these people to death and paying them pennies. It's time they paid their hard-working employees what they are worth. I'm well versed in economics and politics, and I know these businesses aren't going anywhere. And if they need some money, they should ask Bush for some subsidies or tax breaks...oh wait, he's given those to big oil and to the richest of Americans. The rest he's spent in Iraq. Stop acting like you care about America while you stomp all over average Americans.

well, you don't know if that guy who flips burgersw has an education or not, but I can tell you McDonald's pays more than minimum wage. And that wage increase doesn't come from the congress, it comes from employers. So are you advocating that private employers be taxed to pay for this war? And soldiers don't need a new office...get along with less like the rest of us.

Firstly, the reason why they approved the bill to raise the minimum wage is because it was low. Very low. Too low for any working american to have to endure. While you're complaining about not being able to build your NEW office, those people flipping hamburgers may be starving on the streets, or trying to provide for their families. Maybe you should think about the lives some of those people lead before you judge congress for passing a bill that will only help our fellow americans.

Lousy sense of humor, or maybe it whizzed right over my head. Could it possibly be that you are lying about the Congressional pay raise, since no one else seems to have heard of it? Could it also be that the Democrats are helping those who have been ignored for 6 years because they just might be a higher priority than a weapons salesman who will eat well till he dies if he never works another day in his life? And aren't you forgetting that the Repugnant-ones had 2 months to pass these appropriations bills & chose to "retire" early & leave the mess for the Democrats to fix up & take the heat for? You have a lousy sense of priorities & history, kid. Dubya is proud of you.
