Also don't forget to look up the input voltage of your A/C adapter, some of them accept voltages like 110 - 240 V. which means you only need a different plug and it'll work.

My Compag Presario worked on the 220 V in Asia. The power cord has a 110-240 voltage range. You just need a travel adapter for the plugs to plug it into the various Asian plug configurations. Contrary to the other answers i saw for your question, the Phils. uses 220 V as well.

It depends on the country itself. I know the Philippines has 2 prong American style chords.

Watch out for voltage! A lot of Asian countries use 220 volts. That will fry your laptop. Make sure whatever you get can be plugged into a 220 volt plug and not explode. I know desktops can be set to accept either voltage, but for laptops, i don't know what to do.

You might need a transformer to charge your machine, but depending on where you go, those could be expensive.

It is probably to buy an adapter kit for traveling.

What you will need is a travel adapter. This will allow you to plug in your american laptop plug into it, which will then plug into the outlets there. Make sure you get a good one, as they will be able to effectively handle voltage differences. A cheap one might end up blowing up your power supply. I would reccommend an adapter from a reputable travel company, such as Samsonite.

Most likely yes.

Only the Philippians to the best of my knowledge has 110, the rest should be on 220. Check the tourist people for specifics.
