and was wondering if i still had to pay child support i don't mind paying cause it is my daughter but all my friends say i'm dumb for paying when i shouldn't have too ?

I think it's commendable not stupid. Just make sure you get receipts just in case she decides to claim back child support. The thing is you do have to pay it, but you seem to be a good, and caring parent, and decide to pay without having to be told that you have to take care of your child. So good for you for taking care of your child, and showing that you care.

Of course your still required to pay child support, it definately looks better for you if there isn't an support order already in place. Usually the seperation agreement covers the issue of child support. Do the right thing and keep supporting your daughter.

You will have to pay support for this child until she is 18 years old. It doesn't matter how long you have been seperated or divorced, it goes by her age. Not even if you think that it is dumb! You have dumb friends that would say that!!

Don't listen to anyone that calls you dumb - those are the same people that would become deadbeat dads and mess around and have their pay garnished for not paying child support.
pay the child support and just accept that as exactly what it is - Child Support - you are supporting your child, and therefore NOT a deadbeat dad
oh yeah, and don't forget to spend time with your children. they need their father to physically be there in their lives

You are smart. Your ex can't claim that you don't pay.
Besides....kids don't eat for free!!! Clothes, toiletries, medical care, daycare,shelter, utilities, sports etc...are NOT free.
Your "friends" are *****. Damn!
