You have to know a language well enough to get a feel for this.

It depends on what you are trying to say!! Generally, it is article + noun + adjective + (no) + verb (conjugated for the subject) + DO.

For example, to say: The blond girl rides a bike = La chica rubia anda en bicicleta.

But: The blond girl sends her mother many sad letters = La chica rubia le manda a su madre muchas cartas tristes. or La chica rubia le manda muchas cartas tristes a su madre.

But there are MANY MANY factors, like do you have a direct object? Is the direct object a person or a thing? Do you have an indirect object? If so, you need to use the indirect oobject pronoun even if you specifically name the indirect object. Are you using an idomatic expression in English?

Is it an idiomatic expression in Spanish? (That is when it cannot be translated word for word.) Like: "What is your name?" =
?Como te llamas? (Literally: How do you call yourself?) OR "How old are you?" = ?Cuantos anos tienes? (literally: How many years do you have?)

Your best bet is to find a good tutorial/Spanish Language program.

Rosetta Stone is WONDERFUL, but kind of expensive.

In spanish word order is a little bit free (more than English, less than other languages). The basic thing you need to now (to start with) is that the most common order is: subject, verb, object(s). There are other orders possible, but you might want to leave that for later.

article+subject (can be replaced with subject pronoun- yo, etc)+ verb+object+ adjective

Helpful things to remember: Adjectives FOLLOW nouns ("car red" instead of "red car")

Make SURE the verb and subject agree.

If the noun is feminine, the adjective is feminine- same with masculine and singular/plural)

Hope this helps!
