most irritating music ever... IF you call it music
Ok who thinks that rap music is complete garbage considering it takes no talent to make? Rock and Metal (especially metal) take an immense amount of knowledge and money invested in your instrument. Anyone here who agrees, post.

Well, I think the Beastie Boys are very talented, but I was told by someone that they aren't rap. That they are hip hop.
I think it's just a bass line. I think they do less for the black community. They make it cool to do the very things that blacks get criticized for doing. And then they wonder why whites look down on blacks or will try to stay away from a black guy in public? Because your music is putting forth the very stereotypes that you complain about!
I don't see how making a song that goes "b*tches ain't sh*t but ho's " is doing something "positive" as a previous answer stated!!! I don't see how talking about killing people is doing something positive with music. It's quite the opposite!
So, in that regard, yes, rap is crap!
And whites don't understand how to rhyme? or poetry? The kid that said that up above is an idiot. Truly. He's really an idiot with little or no education. Whites have been rhyming and writing poetry before blacks ever had a CHANCE to learn to read!! And that is a fact!! Ever hear of Ovid little boy?? Or Shakespear you fool? And just about EVERY song from the '50s and '60 and 70's and beyond involves some type of rhyming. Yet another reason abortion legal!!!

I agree. However that being said some of the rap out there is cleaver and funny so although I agree that the only talent it takes to be a rapper is the ability to rhyme words to a beat it is not worthless as a genre there are real musicians who have to play some of the instruments in some rap and it does take intense focus and skill to pull it off live.

I disagree. I think that all music, whether it's Rock or Rap music. Many rappers are immensely talented. Alot of them actually play instruments, (read up on some artists). And as far as what they do with poetry and making words rhyme you could not possibly fit all that can be said in a rap song with what is said in a rock song. I am a big fan of both genres. And as far as the money aspect do you know how much money producers spend on equipment that makes those songs. Some of these guys have million dollar studios that house live instruments that are played on the songs. Alot of times people dislike what they do not understand. And that is usually becasue they wish they could.

completely agree! it takes hardly any talent...just hard work, luck, and knowing someone. but that is with most anything in life that you want in life. r & b is a different story...one would have to have talent in that area. but rap really isn't music (to my ears anyway). I also agree about rock musicians or anyone that plays an instument. it takes money and dedication and lots of knowledge.

Each form of music is it's own thing. I thing instead of this being a music question it should be in the Polls and Opinions place. i like rap but its not my favorite. i think that its good but it doenst seem very...demanding, work wise. I think that there are definitly better types of music but thats just an opinion, and no offense but im sure that there are people out there that find your favorite type of music irritating. i think that sometimes the things rappers rap about are very degrading to all of society, its all in the First Amendment.

Rap is crap. It is "performed" by people who actually have no discernible talent and a bad attitude. It is definitely not music.

Why are you knocking people who make music.?? Most rap music comes from the street and if these people are doing something constructive they aint doing naughtiness,surly thats a good thing...if you dont like it dont listen to it
