i think there is actually a book called, "bush on the couch" which i would like to read but haven't yet, i don't even know if it's out yet but i think it is. anyway, it's about exactly what you described in your question: bush from a psychological standpoint. the author talks about things like his sister died from leukemia when she was like 3, and he has a messianic complex which means he thinks he's supposed to save the world (hence invading iraq).

GW Bush is a classic case of what is called a "Personality Disorder." George W Bush has experienced a major problem in his childhood that was so powerful that he can not understand other people or how other people think or reason.
For this reason alone, Bush is totally the wrong person to be placed in a position of great power. He does not have the ability to act or think normally.
I think what happened to him is that his father did not have a real relationship with GW Bush and can still not talk to his son George Bush or influence him.
His mother treated him like a golden puppy, she gave him the best of everything and dotted on him. The results are that the current President Bush can not hear criticism or understand others, so Bush has to innovate a reality that is a fantasy that goes on in his head.
Psychologically, he can not accept being wrong, he was never wrong at home with his nannies, and he is not wrong now. I am afraid he will dream up a good idea and excuse for attacking Iran. I hope I am wrong. Alcohol is one of the major contributor to his stubbornness.
And, your sense that something is wrong with Bush is correct.

Well, he's a politician. He knows that people are easily manipulated and will believe whatever you say. If he makes a mistake, he won't admit to it....therefore people won't notice it. If he made a mistake, and admitted to it.....people wouldn't like him, even though they didn't notice the mistake in the first place. People don't want politicians with humility. They want to see perfection in the government offices. And that's apparently what they think that they are seeing.
I, personally, try to stay away from politics. I don't pay attention to it on tv. Every time I listen to it, I just get disappointed and irritated.

You are absolutely correct. He is a person with below par intelligence who perceives himself to be the enlightened one. He has surrounded himself with people who foster this self deception. No doubt Cheney kicks himself every day for allowing himself to be sucked into this administration, but his true loyalties lie with Bush Sr, whom he does not want to disappoint. This President has led a sheltered life, but believes he has paved his own way. Case in point. He believes it was his own business saavy that enabled him to buy the Texas Rangers and then sell. It was , in fact, his dad's expertise behind the scenes that made that possible. This has been the story of his life. The better and more intelligent Bush president would have been brother Jeb. He has proved to be proactive, rather than reactive like his brother.

i have always been afraid of his behavior. i knew that if he made it to office he would have only 1 thing on his mind: "Finish dad's war" the only one's to thank for this is the people that voted for him, and what kills me is that some republicans still believe that he's doing a great job. here's the only question i have for those people and bush: Where The F**K Is Osama?

He is an untreated alcoholic, he quit "on his own", prompting some doctors to speculate that Bush is what has become known as a "Dry Drunk", a state which is very stressful both physically and mentally.
On 6 July 1986 Bush gave up alcohol on his 40th birthday. As he explained it later to friends, his wife Laura had given him an ultimatum: "It's me or the bottle."

It's why the rest of the world sees him as a "cowboy". He thinks he's always got the best way to do everything and refuses to apologize when he's wrong. He's very destructive to our country.
