but am still legally married to my daughters mother and i pay child support which i don't have a problem with cause it is my child the thing is all my friends say i shouldn't be paying child support cause i'm still married is that true?

Get new friends..the ones you have ar idiots..of course you have to pay support...it's you're kid.

well, married (or not) you're still the dad, and you pay willinglly, so why nit pick. If you do divorce, you'll have an established amount by the court, how much you'll HAVE to pay, which could possibly be much more than you pay now, and the weight of the legal system will be behind it. So, it you plan to remain "just seperated", I'd forget what my friends say, who just seem to be stirring up potential problems, and just continue with the current deal, cause otherwise it could open a whole can of worms and be really costly for you- $$$ wish, and with the relationship with your daughter.

Well, if your wife has not contacted an attorney about child support you might not have to pay child support now. But if she has and you all file for a divorce you will be liable for back pay.
