And I don't mean it rude. I just don't get it. I like all kind of games and I do not understand the appeal of it. Is it for math type people only? Is it relaxing? Why? Thanks much.

I ask the same thing about crossword puzzles & Scrabble, but I quite like Sudoku, and other logic puzzles.
I think part of it is the way our brains work, different people have different strengths. I'm not a great speller, but I love finding patterns.
I AM a "math person," but Sudoku isn't really a math game. (As I told my mother who LOVES scrabble, but isn't a big math fan - You could do these puzzles with any 9 symbols or letters.) The way I see Sudoku it's more of a logic and pattern puzzle. It makes me think, it passes some time, I feel like I've accomplished something after I've finished a puzzle.
While I don't know what I really think about the brain age stuff that's being talked about now, I am 100% sure that spending 30 minutes solving a puzzle is better for my brain than spending 30 minutes in front of a sitcom on TV.
If you haven't ever tried a Sudoku puzzle you might want to find and print one or two from the internet (there are plenty of sites with free puzzles.) That might help you understand what some people find appealing. If you have tried the game and it's just not your thing, well I guess that's what it comes down to; it just isn't your thing.

Yeah, it's not math. You just go inside a labyrinth and there's a lot of ways to the end, and there's a lot of ways to stuck in the middle. That's Sudoku

Your job is to fill 9x9 box which divided in 3x3 box with number from 1-9. You can't fill a same number in a same row, column, or in the same 3v3 box. You just get a few numbers as a help. This is the real challenge of Sudoku. Lots of speculation, and every step you take must right to get to the finish line. It's not relaxing, honestly. It's frustrating if you have a low mental, but if you patience enough and think clear, you'll solve it. When you solve one, you'll like to solve another puzzle. Try it!!! ^o^

Many people like a challenge and it is also fun to get a right answer. It is something to do. For some who are very good at it could be relaxing. I would assume it is mainly for math people not completely though.

Hope i helped.

I love the game but that's because I love math and numbers. It justs really puts my mind to the test. But I definitely wouldn't consider it relaxing, just something to pass the time.

I know when I spend 30 minutes on a puzzle and then I finally accomplish it, I feel just a little bit smarter.

And because it looks hard, but it's really not.

For the same reason that people like crosswords - just something to stave off boredom (like, whilst commuting on the train)

It's challenging. I've played off and on for about a month and I still haven't solved one.
