I haven't loose any songs at all... just lost the library from my computer. I don't want to sync my iPod with the computer and loose ALL my ratings, Play Counts, etc. The sad thing is that iTunes software basically allows repairs, updates only one way (PC to iPod).

I tried a few 3rd parties programs without good results!

Use your iPod to move your music back to your computer without losing any of your information. It's pretty easy; you just have to find the hidden files and 'unlock' them. Try this:
-open iTunes on your computer, then open iTunes preferences and leave running (this will temporarily prevent your computer from trying to sync with iPod)
-connect your iPod and wait about 15 seconds
-Go to My Computer, go to tools, click on 'folder options', then 'view tab,' then 'show hidden files.'
-open the iPod icon in My Computer
-open ipod_control
-drag the 'music' folder to somewhere on your hard drive
-right click this new music folder and select 'properties'
-clear checkmark next to 'hidden' then close this window
-eject iPod from your System Tray using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon at the bottom right corner of your screen
-cancel the iTunes preferences window
-go to File menu, click 'add folder to library,' add 'music' folder

hmmm thats a hard one.... (unfortunately) it will delete ur songs but if u want to keep them on ur ipod u can log off ur computer and plug ur ipod in and u may charge it.....nothing will happen..however u cannot ever update ur ipod..but to get those songs back u might have to buy them again or if ur using a file sharing program (limewire) then u probably can restore them because they are saved into "c:/program files/shared" and all ur songs should be there..

each and every thing would be erased and you're able to have the production facility ipod settings all settings could be back to once you first offered it and each thing could be as in case you only offered it (besides some actual scratches)
