Unless there is a problem, your doctor appointments will probably be once a month until you reach your third trimester. You will then have apointments that are two weeks apart. You may be aske to come in once a week towards the very end. (This is how is has been with all my pregnancies.)

Now, traveling 25 minutes to see a doctor?

Our family doctor is almost an hour away. We see him because he's good and because we trust him. Our daughter's pediatrician is about 30 minutes away. We go there because we trust them and it is a very good practice.

If the doctor is a good one and one that you trust, then, no, 25 minutes is not long at all to travel. You're putting your life and the life of your unborn child in this doctor's hands. If you trust him, then the travel is definitely worth it.

Good luck!

As long you have a normal pregancy this doesn't sound like a problem, but you shouldn't be more than an 1/2 hour from the hospital you plan to deliver in. And yes, your doctor visits will be spred out 1 a month, then gradually increase throughout your pregnancy to 1 a week during the last 6-4 weeks, so take this into consideration. For me, having a doctor I felt comfortable with far outweighed having to drive 45 minutes to see her (however the hospital was only 25 minutes away).

There are two people I would drive to the end of the earth to see
a good OB and a good Dentist.

This is a special time in your life and one that might be brand new to you if this is your first. In many cities that drive to work is nothing let alone a drive to see a Dr.

If you trust this OB and you want to finish out the pregnancy with this OB then no distance is too great to meet with a Dr. that you will be comfortable with throughout this pregnancy.

Ask your husband if he had someone lined to up get him snipped and he had heard from other guy friends that Dr. Joe Schmoe 20 miles away was the best in town, would he drive to see that guy???

true.... they are once a month until your about 28-30 weeks then it's every 2 weeks.. then at 36 weeks it's every week... If you really like your doctor and your willing to make the drive, I'd say it's ok, ,, but the only problem with that is what hospital your ob will deliver at?? is it going to be like 25 minutes away, or will he or she deliver at a hospital closer to you, cause if you go into labor you don't want the baby to start coming out in the car on the way to the hospital... I've heard alot of stories about that, every pregnancy is different and you can't really determine how it will be... But I would think about that... and talk to your husband too about it,,, cause honestly when your in labor your not gonna want to drive no 25 minutes to get to a hospital.... well good luck

I think that fine. I would travel as far as I had to for my Doc. I think shes great! Her office is about 3 miles from my house & its across from the hospital I want to deliver at, but there is a chance I might have to deliver at a hospital across town (about 25-30 miles). And i dont have a problem with it as long as my doctor is there.

I don't think that's too far. My Dr. is about 20 minutes away and I don't feel that it's too far at all.

My appointments were once a month until I hit 30 wks, then they changed them to every two weeks and in my last month it's been once a week.

Go wherever you feel most comfortable. I would have traveled farther than that to get to my Dr. because I feel that she has been wonderful and helped me be as comfortable as possible in my pregnancy.

Good luck with your pregnancy! =)
