It isn't good to drive on a flat tire, but if it goes flat somewhere that is unsafe to stop to change a tire, then slowly drive on it until you get to somewhere that is safer. The cost of replacing a tire and a wheel is less significant than the cost of replacing you or part of you.

It is bad to drive on a flat tire, although in your case it probably didn't go flat all at once, the gash in the side of the tire was probably from driving on it almost flat.If it had of went flat all at once you could not have been driving 60 mph....

Well, you now know that it's bad to drive on a flat tire!
Whenever you hit someting like that you need to stop and inspect your car and tires for damage. But you've already figured that out I'd reckon.

It is never good to drive on a flat tire. You should pull over as soon as you can safely do so. It can cut all of the belts and weaken the sidewalls. If you have a tear in your sidewall you tire is finished. It can not be repaired.

The six inch incision (cut) will tell you tires are not meant to be driven on flat...unless they are "runflat" tires on newer cars...and then only at low speed and for a short distance. Do not use that tire again.

Yes it is bad. You can warp your rim, mess up your rotaries & mess up the whole wheel for that side. Be sure to have it all inspected before puttin the new tire on.

yes it's bad. You can ruin the rim, mess up your suspension. It could end up being costly. There is no way to repair the tire, so you are at least going to have to replace the tire.

Have your wheel inspected at a tire shop before you put another tire on it. If you did ruin the wheel, call a salvage yard to see if they have one like yours. Much cheaper than the dealer. They might have a used tire, too.
